C.R.E.W. Ministries Mission Statement: Unleashing single-minded, Christ-centered, biblically-anchored, world-changers. Deuteronomy 6:4-9
The students at EBC are referred to as The C.R.E.W., and that acronym stands for “Created to Reach the Entire World.” It is meant to carry with it a subtle military connotation, from the name itself to the “stencil” font that is used to produce it. The idea is to keep before our students the fact that we are all involved in an ongoing spiritual battle…an invisible war for our souls. Red is the color that often symbolizes sacrifice, and it is used in conjunction with this logo to reflect the sacrificial blood of Christ. This name is also a reminder of our commitment to “The Great Commission” and our mandate to “reach the entire world” for Christ. 1 Peter 2:9 declares that we “are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God,
that (we) may declare the praises of him who called (us) out of darkness into his wonderful light.” This verse reminds us that, even though our salvation is a free gift of God’s mercy and grace, we were bought with a price and now have the responsibility of sharing this gift with lost people everywhere.
The hub of activity for the student ministry is the student center called
The C.R.E.W. Quarters.
The Student Ministry itself is divided into twenty-three different ministries that are tailored to the ministry needs of our students and their unique gifts. These ministries are collectively referred to as the

Clothing Closet       This ministry is located in the gym and is                                            always in the process of collecting items and                                              stocking the shelves. It provides clothing to                                                school-age children and teenagers in our                                             community. Most referrals come from school                                             counselors or social workers.
LifeGroups        Life Groups are small groups that meet at least                                         once monthly but often more frequently. They                                           are groups of students divided by age and                                                   gender, with each group being led by two                                                   adults called “Life Coaches.”
K'Nekt  Youth-led Worship that meets on Sunday                                                    evenings several times annually from 7:30-8:30.                                        Sometimes, instead of worship, we may do                                                special events that allow the church to intersect                                        with the world outside and the world of                                                     students… school.
SNAC  An acronym for “Sunday Night at Church,” this                                           is the time of food and fellowship weekly from                                          5:30-6:00.
Fattened Calfe    The Fattened Calf-é opens on Wednesday nights                                       in the student center and provides a light,                                                  kid-friendly menu that is designed to give                                                   students an alternative to the Family Night                                                  Dinner that is served weekly in the CLC. We                                                 open from 6:00 until 7:15 so that students who                                         are coming in late from school and athletic                                                events will have an opportunity to eat without                                           having to skip church to eat elsewhere since the                                        meal in the CLC ends as we are opening up.
Hebrews   HeBrews is our full-service coffee shop offering                                        a wide range of beverages including coffee and                                        espresso drinks, teas, smoothies, frappes,                                                  milkshakes, ice cream treats such as the                                                      “snowstorm,” canned soft drinks and Gatorades,                                      and a candy counter with a variety of popular                                            candies. It is open to the entire church on                                                   Sunday mornings, Sunday afternoons,                                                         Wednesday evenings, and for special occasions                                         by request. It is located in the Student Center. All                                      proceeds from HeBrews and the Fattened Calf-é                                      go directly into our mission accounts and help                                          fund our summer and Christmas mission                                       projects.
Volunteers        Of course, to operate this many ministries, we                                      need an army of volunteers. Most of our                                                      volunteer leadership are parents. We encourage                                       you to become familiar with our many ministries                                       and volunteer where you feel best equipped and                                     led to serve.

betterhomes   Finally, let me encourage parents to participate in                                    our regularly scheduled parent support and                                              training group meetings known as “Better Homes                                    and Guardians.” Our goal is to provide you with                                        opportunities to learn about the developmental                                        stages of your students, have a safe environment                                    which to share and learn from other parents who                                    are struggling with the same issues or who have                                       older students and have already been through                                          phase you are currently experiencing. We try and                                     at least once every four to six weeks, so watch for                                     announcements in the weekly Parent Updates.

The C.R.E.W. Ministries Communication Plan:
It is very important for parents, students, volunteer leaders, and interested church members to understand the various ways we disseminate information from the student ministry. First of all, there is the church newsletter, The Elizabethan. It is printed and mailed to the church membership every two weeks. The information that I provide there will be of a general nature for the entire congregation. Every week, a new version of C.R.E.W. Update will be released. It will contain very specific information and will be oriented toward students and their parents, although everyone is encouraged to read it. I also write another “update” weekly called the Parent Update. All of these are emailed once weekly to parents for whom I have email addresses on file. Print versions of all weekly publications are available in The C.R.E.W. QUARTERS and from the Student Ministries Reception Desk upstairs during its scheduled operating hours (posted in the Reception Center). C.R.E.W. Updates are printed each week and made available on Sunday mornings so that students and parents might be alerted to any schedule changes.
