"Worship Takes Work"
Apr 12, 2026 • Dr. Rit Varriale
Worship requires more than passive participation—it demands active contribution to God's kingdom. Drawing from Nehemiah's example of rebuilding Jerusalem's walls despite opposition, we learn that having a mind to work means shifting from being consumers to contributors in our faith. Elizabeth Baptist Church's history of building and rebuilding sanctuaries demonstrates this principle across generations. The current renovation project represents wise stewardship, creating better worship spaces while challenging us to examine our own hearts. True worship happens when we move beyond asking what the church can do for us and instead focus on how we can serve God's purposes with our time, talents, and resources.
