"The Glory of God"

Christianity is not primarily about us. It is about the glory of God. The Hebrew word for glory, kavod, means weight and significance, pointing to the overwhelming greatness of who God is. From Moses encountering God in Exodus 33 to the multitudes worshiping before the throne in Revelation, Scripture consistently places His glory at the center of everything. God created us for His glory, not primarily for our own happiness or fulfillment. Salvation is a precious gift, but it is the means by which God restores us to a right relationship with Him so we can live for His glory. The glory of God in Jesus Christ is the centerpiece of Christianity, not the salvation of humanity.
